What to Write in a Birthday Card

There are many articles and blogs written about what to write in a ‘name the occasion’ card. Plus, there are websites that have quotes and poems and all sorts of ways to say Happy Birthday.

The message you want to write depends on who the card is for and what type of relationship you have with that person.

  • Is it a family member or a friend?

Chances are you don’t want to write the same message to your mom as you would to your best friend who you had a few drinks with last weekend or vice versa.

  • Are you close to the person or just know them well enough to give them a card?

  • Would a heartfelt message or a funny message be better received?

You may not find the perfect words to convey everything that the person means to you and that’s okay.

The words don’t need to be deep or poetic or perfect, they just need to be from you.

The important thing is wishing the person a happy birthday.
